A well-written and well-delivered speech is incredibly powerful; it can communicate meaning and generate interest like very few mediums. Good speeches can engage emotions, shape opinion and get results. This interactive one-day speech-writing workshop is designed to help you write an interesting and engaging speech, become more confident when speaking in front of groups and identify how we can connect with our audience.
You will be coached to become more confident when speaking in front of groups, identifying how we can take the audience on our journey and encourage them follow our path. You will acquire techniques for preparing and structuring speeches to inform, engage, entertain and motivate listeners.
This course will enable you to then practise these newly-acquired techniques in a supportive environment and receive professional coaching and constructive feedback.
NB: You will be asked to prepare or provide short presentation prior to attendance.

Janey is the founding co-director of Reactive Roleplay, a communications company who use actors in training across the public and private sector. She has an English degree from the University of Nottingham and trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama before undertaking her PG Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
A professional playwright (garnering acclaim in theatres from London’s West End to New York) Janey incorporates imaginative, creative thinking into her training approach.
As a communications expert, Janey has delivered a range of impactful sessions across the UK (and further afield) for the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, NHS, Department of Health, Department of Transport, Airports Commission, Highways England, Institute for War and Peace Reporting and many other prestigious companies. She is also a sought-after public speaking and writing coach. With her empathic, supportive and open style, Janey aims to empower individuals and ensure they feel best placed to succeed.
