To ensure the Association operates to the highest standards and member rights are protected, a membership Charter has been adopted which sets out the governing procedures for MEPRA's officers, the Board of Director elections (formerly executive committee) and other key issues critical to the effective functioning of a professional association - fees, membership procedures, benefits etc. As with any Charter, MEPRA's is dynamic. As an association evolves it will face new issues and challenges - the Charter will address these issues as and when they come to the fore and be amended as appropriate following a debate and vote at the Board of Directors. The current Charter is based on a set of bylaws drafted in October 2008 which were open to public comment. With MEPRA's registration with the Media Authority-Abu Dhabi, the bylaws were changed to a Charter, to be adopted officially at the Annual General Meeting in February 2010. MEPRA abides by the articles of association which were signed on registering as an FZ-LLC. |
