Accreditation & CPD

Thanks to MEPRA’s recent collaboration with CIPR, MEPRA members will now be able to take part in CIPR’s internationally recognised Continuing Professional Development program (CPD). CPD helps you plan, manage and record all the activities you do to keep your knowledge and skills up to date. CPD ensures that you stay at the leading edge of your profession, so you are equipped for the future in a fast-changing environment. Free and exclusive to MEPRA members, CPD leads to accreditation and is your route to becoming an MEPRA Accredited PR Practitioner (MAPR) and even CIPR Chartered PR Practitioner.

CIPR’s member CPD online platform is exclusively open to MEPRA members and contains more than 1,200 development activities, guides, fact sheets and webinars. You can log custom activities and non-MEPRA activities too. For each activity you log, you’ll earn points, which count towards Accreditation. You need to earn 60 CPD points each year to complete your CPD record. After two years’ CPD you will automatically become a MEPRA Accredited PR Practitioner and you will have the option to upgrade to CIPR Accredited PR Practitioner status, a title which is recognised worldwide. After three years, you can apply to become a CIPR Chartered PR Practitioner (Chart. PR). Senior practitioners may be eligible to accelerate their CPD to Chart. PR status.

Accreditation Process:

You can earn CPD points on development activity that is outside your day-to-day role. This can include free activities from reading a book, mentoring colleagues and committee participation, to attending industry conferences and training courses. Our one-day courses are worth 10 CPD points and logging them is quick and easy.
