Jack Pearce

Founder of Matrix Public Relations

With over 30 years PR experience in the Middle East, Jack Pearce is truly PR veteran. He built a distinguished career in marketing and journalism in the Middle East, commencing as PR Manager of the Abu Dhabi Inter-Continental Hotel in the 1980s. In addition to routine hotel PR work he coordinated two GCC summit conferences and numerous state occasions and head of state visits. He was appointed editor of the UAE's “What's On” magazine in 1987 and subsequently became UAE
country manager of the international PR firm Hill and Knowlton, a position he held for five years. He was then head hunted to become Public Affairs Manager of the British Bank of the Middle East (now HSBC), providing PR counsel to BBME's chairman, six country CEOs and reporting to the Head of Public Affairs of
the HSBC Group in London.

In 1996 he was invited to set up and became Senior Director of IPR, the Middle East affiliate of Shandwick, the world's largest independent PR firm at the time. He left IPR to set up his own consultancy, Matrix Consulting in June 1998 followed by Matrix Public Relations in Nov 1999.

In 2001 he conceptualized and co-founded the Middle East PR Association (MEPRA) and regularly spoke at forums and is quoted in the media on public affairs issues. He served as Chairman and Vice chairman of the Middle East Public Relations Association (MEPRA) for a number of years and adjunct trainer in PR for the American University in Dubai.
