Joseph Nalloor

MEPRA Fellow, Strategy Board Member and Senior Academic

Joseph John Nalloor is a MEPRA Fellow and senior award-winning media academician teaching media in the UAE for over 20 years with a special focus on PR and Strategic Communication. Joseph has headed three media schools in the UAE – at Murdoch University Dubai, Curtin University Dubai and Manipal Academy of High Education (MAHE) Dubai. 

As an educator, he has been involved with and served on academic boards to develop curriculum that keep university media education current and industry relevant. He has always believed in strong academia-industry collaborations and has nurtured students to be industry-ready through internships and graduate roles with MEPRA members. He has also facilitated guest sessions by MEPRA leaders on campus and provided a platform for MEPRA workshops and events. Joseph was awarded the MEPRA Fellow in 2025 for his contribution to the PR and Communications field in the region. He has also been awarded twice for Excellence in Teaching and Learning while at Murdoch University Dubai. 

His students, over the years, work with leading media houses and PR firms in the UAE and the region. Many of them have gone on to win international accolades, industry awards and recognition. His students have also consistently won the MEPRA Best Student Campaign Awards. 

Joseph has previously been responsible for several tie-ups with the Emirates Literature Festival, Sharjah International Book Fair, Dubai International Film Festival and Dubai Press Club among others.

Moreover, Joseph’s research and industry engagement has garnered him recognition as a thought leader in the media field. Joseph has been published in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at international conferences. His contributions as a speaker on panels and media channels about communication issues demonstrate his commitment to staying at the forefront of industry trends and sharing his insights with a broad audience.
