MEPRA Executive Board Member; Senior Director of Global Corporate Communications - M42

Mazar has worked in financial and corporate communications for over fifteen years and has extensive experience in capital markets, reputation management and creating and delivering integrated corporate communications campaigns across a range of sectors.

As Senior Director, Global Communications at M42, Mazar oversees M42’s global brand and communications, and focuses on strategic communications advisory to M42’s leadership, building holistic campaigns and international stakeholder engagement.

Prior to M42, Mazar was Managing Director UAE at Edelman where he developed and grew the company’s UAE business, advised key clients across the Emirates on critical communications challenges and global communications, and established market leadership for strategic communications and high-impact integrated campaigns. Mazar joined Edelman from Kekst CNC – part of Publicis Groupe – where as Director (Middle East), he spearheaded the firm’s growth in the region and advised businesses on corporate communications campaigns and capital markets activity, including some of the region’s biggest listings.

Before moving to the Middle East, Mazar held director roles at Powerscourt – now Sodali & Co. – one of the UK’s leading strategic communications consultancy, Camargue and Brunswick where he worked on UK and global mandates.

Mazar prides himself on delivering excellence for clients and has advised on some of the leading corporate and financial communications projects throughout his career, including cross border campaigns and capital markets transactions, such as M&A, capital raises and IPOs, including in the Gulf, U.K., Europe and different parts of Asia. He has been a trusted advisor to the C-suite of FTSE100, FTSE250 and both private and semi-government entities globally. He has been consistently recognised as one of the most powerful communicators in the region by PR Week Middle East.

Prior to a career in communications, Mazar worked as an auditor at PwC. He graduated with a First in BA (Hons) English from the University of Cambridge and as well as being an Executive Board Member of MEPRA, he has served as co-chair of Edelman’s Uplift, Trustee of the Taylor Bennett Foundation and Chair of Oxbridge Muslim Alumni.
