Dina Samhout, Group Account Director at Acorn Strategy
As Group Account Director, Dina Samhout looks after the communications and public relations strategy, planning, and implementation for Acorn Strategy clients. She is instrumental in networking and maintaining the media relations, besides assessing and handling different brands’ requirements, including public relations, creative, public affairs, press coverage, events, launches, and creating brand awareness.
Dina brings over 17 years of experience in the marketing and communications industry in the region. She is a reputation management specialist, where she covered key areas of advisory including brand building, reputation management, product launches, media relations, strategic advisory, crisis communications, digital and social media strategy, internal communications as well as stakeholder outreach and corporate communications. During her career, Dina advised companies from a wide range of sectors; spanning education (City University London, Cass Business School, SAE Institute, Dubai Knowledge Village, Dubai Academic City), real estate (Sorouh, Dubai Properties Group, wasl Properties), oil and gas (BP Castrol, Exxon Mobil, Qaiwan Group), banking (ICBC, DIB, Arqaam Capital, Noor Islamic Bank), pharma (Bayer, Novo Nordisk) and government affairs (Dubai Holding, DIFC, Executive Council, Libyan Transitional Council, Kuwait Ministry of Information, Dubai Economic Department). She also worked heavily on the consumer side, including luxury (Chopard, Elie Saab, Mercedes Benz, The Ivy), retail (Namshi.com, MAF Malls), hospitality (Jumeirah Group, Intercontinental Hotels Group), food & beverage (Subway Arabia, Zuma, Jumeirah Restaurants, PepsiCo), entertainment (The X Factor Arabia, OSN, DMI, MBC Group), FMCG (PepsiCo, P&G, Bieirsdorf – including Nivea Beauté).
Before joining Acorn Strategy, Dina worked with Pirelli and major multinational PR consultancy firms Havas, Bell Pottinger, Porter Novelli, Brunswick Group, APCO and Weber Shandwick. Dina has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the American University in Cairo, and an MBA, with a specialisation in Marketing, from Preston University, USA. Dina is a certified trainer with Dale Carnegie, conducting monthly trainings in LTM (Leadership Training for Managers) and HIP (High Impact Presentations).
MEPRA has partnered with UK’s Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) to establish a continuous professional development (CPD) program. MEPRA members will receive access to CIPR’s CPD platform, which includes more than 1,200 learning resources and enables practitioners to map their training journey and earn their way to becoming MEPRA and CIPR Accredited Public Relations Practitioners.
