Hello! I’m Marileze, some just call me ‘M’. I’m South African and was born into a medical home with my dad a surgeon and my mom a nurse. I’m a mom of twins, love adventure and the outdoors, I’m a food lover and dreamer and love to inspire one person at a time
I keep this proverb very close to my heart ‘I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.’ Maya Angelou.
After losing both my parents to cancer way too young, I ventured into the world of nutrition and functional medicine to help find natural ways to protect me and my family from going down ‘that way’. I knew there had to be another way of prevention, healing, and repair. Learning is a lifelong passion for me, and I made it my commitment to share my passion for food-as-medicine with as many as I can. I firmly believe that how you eat, move, sleep, supplement, and think governs most of how you feel.
I had my fair share of food confusion, binge eating, feeling foggy, flabby and fatigued. Many times, being riddled with inflammation, pain, and riding the roller coaster of out of balanced hormones, I was ready to stop the vicious cycle once and for all! I knew in my bones that real food and lifestyle changes was the key to good health, and a healthy, thriving life is the key to happiness, so I ventured hard and strong into learning and making changes. Today, I strive every day to feel better, be better and serve my clients better.
I’m saying this to say that I get it. I’ve been there. I wasn’t perfect about this healthy lifestyle from day one, and I still am not. It’s a journey of discovery, of adventure and progress. I’ve learned a whole lot along the way whilst doing my Adv Dip in Nutritional Medicine, Health and Hormone Balancing qualification and Functional Medicine certification, but most of all I learn from every single client!
My true mission with Body Boost is to spread the word that food does heal. That with nutrition and lifestyle changes and key supplements you can boost your health, energy, mood, focus and body composition that will change your life.
I want you to feel empowered and inspired to heal! My goal is to help YOU find the nutritional and lifestyle path that is right for you. We’re all so unique and while I often share what has worked for me, it might not be what works for you, but I will help get you there!
