How do you land coverage in China, the US or Europe? Often our clients’ key markets are beyond the local and regional and we’re tasked with thinking creatively and strategically about what we need to do to impact global news agendas. Whist navigating the global media landscape in key markets is no mean feat, and certain stories will naturally have a more apparent international relevance than others, this session will cover the core ingredients for how to make your story go global. From removing the barriers for media to cover, to providing a suite of assets, and playing in to the localised news agenda of the market, the session will be positioned as a workshop to help you identify a newsworthy story, craft your news line and then understand the assets you need that will provide the strongest chance to secure editorial news coverage on some of the world’s major news outlets.
Cheryl King, Managing Director at markettiers MENA
Cheryl is the Managing Director of the region’s only dedicated broadcast consultancy, markettiers MENA. Having helped set up the regional operation of the business back in 2014, Cheryl brings 11 years’ experience working in Public Relations and Broadcast PR in both London and Dubai to the role, which has seen her deliver award-winning projects for the likes of DMCC and IMG Worlds of Adventure.
An evangelist of the power of broadcast media and digital to reach core and new audiences, Cheryl has worked on a number of firsts for the region – including the first live and interactive streamed broadcast to a media portal back in 2015. In her role, Cheryl is responsible for working alongside the global senior management team to lead the business’ operations as well as helping to deliver innovative campaigns that deliver a tangible ROI for clients.
Since working in the region, she has fostered the business as it leads the market in live streaming, video news production and distribution for both corporate and consumer businesses, most recently delivering a MERPA Gold Award winning campaign and four Guinness World Records this year.
