Fatma Al-Nuaimi
MEPRA Fellow and Event Policies Director of Affairs at the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy
Fatma Al Nuaimi is the Event Policies Director of Affairs at the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), the organisation that delivered the infrastructure and Host Country operations for the historic FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ as well as several landmark sporting and entertainment events in Qatar.
In her role, she is responsible for corporate communications, media relations, digital strategy, government engagement, fan and community outreach as well as stakeholder relations with a variety of local, regional and international audiences.
Al Nuaimi is also playing a central role in the transformation of the SC into its new mandate. As part of this and in collaboration with its stakeholders, the SC is enabling and governing Qatar’s events ecosystem; building on best practices and lessons learned, to ensure the sector’s continued success, contribution to national development plans, and expanding Qatar’s position as a leading destination for exceptional events.
Al Nuaimi first joined the SC in 2013 as Senior Legacy Manager, where she was responsible for putting in place the strategies and plans required to ensure the World Cup would deliver enduring economic, human, cultural and social legacies long after 2022.
In 2015, she co-founded Challenge 22, an innovation programme designed to unite and empower the MENA region’s brightest minds by supporting creative ideas that contribute to the success of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ and beyond. She also played a pivotal role in establishing and operating the Josoor Institute, the SC’s educational centre of excellence for the sports and events industries.
In 2021, Al Nuaimi was named amongst the Leaders Sports Awards’ Leaders Under 40. In 2023, she received the World Woman Foundation’s World Woman Hero Award, recognising her leadership and contribution to the success of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. Al Nuaimi is also an alumni member of the Global Shapers Community at the World Economic Forum.
In 2025, Al Nuaimi was appointed to the FIFA Media and Communications Standing Committee for the 2025–2029 term in recognition of her contribution to the global sports communications industry and commitment to advancing the way event organisers engage fans and stakeholders worldwide. Her appointment is testament to how she helped place a regional voice at the heart of how the global game communicates.
She holds an MBA from Qatar University and is an alumnus of the Qatar Leadership Centre.
