Fatma Al-Nuaimi

Communications Executive Director at Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy Qatar

Fatma Al Nuaimi is the Communications and Media Executive Director at the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC). Al Nuaimi has been leading the department since January 2017, having first joined the organisation in 2013.  

In her role, Al Nuaimi led on communicating and engaging with local, regional and global stakeholders to keep them informed of and involved in the SC and Qatar’s journey to deliver a historic FIFA World Cup™ in 2022. This included all communications activities on behalf of the SC, as well as the Local Organising Joint Venture, the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 LLC, and Qatar as Host Country for the event, and spanned corporate communications, media, digital media, government and stakeholder relations, and more. 

Since the conclusion of the FIFA World Cup™, Al Nuaimi has looked after communicating the tournament’s economic, social, cultural and human legacy, and the lasting impact it has had on Qatar, the region and the world. She has also been heavily involved in shaping and setting the organisation’s new mandate, which will look at a wider portfolio of events spanning various disciplines and industries. 

Before joining the Communications and Media Department at the SC, Al Nuaimi was Senior Legacy Manager for the organisation and tasked with ensuring the tournament leaves a lasting positive effect on Qatar and the region long after 2022. In 2015, Al Nuaimi created the Challenge 22 initiative, a competition designed to help unite, inspire and challenge the MENA region’s brightest minds by funding and supporting innovative ideas that could contribute to the success of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ and beyond. Al Nuaimi also played a key role in building and operating the Josoor Institute, the SC’s educational centre of excellence for the sports and events industries.

Al Nuaimi is a member of the Global Shapers Community at the World Economic Forum, where she advises the Doha Hub, among other responsibilities. She is also a recipient of the Forum’s World Woman Hero Award, which was presented to her in recognition of her leadership and contribution to the success of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.

Prior to joining the SC, Al Nuaimi worked as a Cyber Safety Manager in ictQatar’s ICT & Society Division. Al Nuaimi holds an MBA from Qatar University and is an alumnus of the Qatar Leadership Centre.
