Hill+Knowlton Strategies with Extreme E & Saudi Arabia Motorsport Federation

In March 2021, Saudi Arabia’s busiest year of motorsport continued with the first ever staging of Extreme, a brand new series that aims to highlight the impact of global climate change. Attracting investment from the likes of Sir Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosburg and Jenson Button, Extreme E pits men and women drivers against each other in bespoke electric powered SUVs in a race series that transcends the globe.

The first ever race took place at AlUla , a stunning backdrop in Saudi Arabia and an appropriate location to highlight concerns around desertification, The venue was a controversial choice, considering international debate around ‘sports washing’, human right s and a lack of awareness of Saudi’s environmental investments.
