Transition Talks
ACWA Power with Hill+Knowlton Strategies
Since inception in 2004 in Saudi Arabia, ACWA Power is investing in, developing and operating power generation and desalination plants in its home market and beyond. Having started out as a utilities company largely powered by conventional sources, the company has pivoted to low carbon and renewable energy sources. Today, ACWA Power has 64 assets across 13 countries that are in operation or development, with an ambitious roadmap to grow its portfolio in existing and new markets.
In 2020, hampered by the Covid19 pandemic, the company’s business development plans were
seriously impacted as borders closed, travel was hampered, and conferences were cancelled. While an
opportunity presented itself to own the “energy transition” narrative, the company made a decision to
take business development digital, and introduced the “Transition Talks”, a quarterly webinar series to
discuss the most pertinent energy topics of the day.
