Challenge:
Food security isn’t temporary, according to UNWFP about 73 million vulnerable primary school aged children in 60 countries go to school hungry. Hungry children cannot learn, and sick children cannot attend school
Objective
By supporting and sponsoring an online fundraising during Ramadan 2021, we aimed to raise AED200,000 worth 200,000 school meals, for vulnerable communities across the MENA region including in Syria, Yemen, Lebanon and Jordan.
For the first time ever, since the inception of Dubai Holding, we launched a unified Ramadan campaign across the Group, encompassing our businesses, operations, and mobilising our employees and the wider community to collectively achieve social impact at a large scale.
Results
We successfully raised 294,000+ meals, a successful 147% more than our set target. Our campaign together reached 15,000,000+ potential donors, and we contributed AED 3,000,000+ worth media coverage both paid and barter in efforts to achieve the targets of the campaign.
