APCO — Shaping ATRC’s Internal Comms for Success

Launched in October 2020, Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) is the overarching entity mandated to
shape an advanced technology ecosystem in the UAE capital and drive the country’s strategic research priorities.

ATRC aims to put Abu Dhabi on the international map as the preferred R&D hub in the science and technology
field through its Technology Innovation Institute (TII), ATRC’s applied research pillar, with its seven initial research
centers and ASPIRE, its dedicated program management pillar.

With its truly diverse organizational dynamic, ATRC convenes leading global advanced technology experts from
around the world that comprise its staff. Local Emirati STEM talent, handpicked to collaborate with these renowned
researchers, further enrich its human capital. As a young organization, the teams across TII and ASPIRE are all still
finding their feet. The embedded APCO team was tasked with building and implementing an effective internal
communications strategy and department.
