Launched in 2023, the Fatima bint Mubarak Center, a dedicated cancer center in the UAE, marked a groundbreaking milestone in the region’s healthcare landscape. However, bridging the gap in cancer inequities was crucial, as awareness of advanced oncology care remained limited. Many patients still believed they had to travel abroad for world-class treatment, unaware of the cutting-edge services available locally. To change this, we not only aimed to reshape the regional narrative on cancer care but also to bring global attention to the center. Our approach positioned Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi as a leader in oncology, highlighting the availability of state-of-the-art cancer treatment close to home. This strategy has also attracted clinical trials that now cover the diverse demographics of the UAE, ensuring that local patients benefit from the latest advancements in cancer care.
