BRINGING WASTE TO THE TOP OF THE GLOBAL AGENDA AT COP28

Before COP28 in Dubai, waste management was notably absent from the global climate conversation, despite the international waste management industry contributing 3-5% of global greenhouse gas emissions—more than the aviation sector. Recognizing this critical gap, we sought to leverage key partnerships, agreements with international organisations and experts, and showcase the value of waste as an alternative resource for generations to come. This was the foundation for our 360, integrated campaign: bringing waste to the top of the UAE’s and the world’s agenda to showcase how, by shifting perspectives, we can unlock this under-utilised resource as a powerful source for alternative energies, starting with COP28.
