In the wake of high-profile incidents such as Sherif Mounir, whose daughters were targeted after he posted a family picture online, and Amina Khalil, who received hostile messages after a social image she posted was circulated, it was evident that online trolling and bullying were becoming the norm in Egypt. Instagram knew it needed to tackle the issue head on and help empower people of all ages to understand how to stay safe online.
