Opening of Route 2020

Route 2020 Dubai Metro line as extension to Dubai’s Red line network connects Jabal Ali Metro Station (formerly known as Nakheel Harbour and Tower) to the Expo 2020 site serving as a catalyst to ferry commuters to the Expo site. With sustainability and advanced technology used in the construction and operations of the system, the line was opened to commuters on 1 January 2021. We focused on ease, features of the new stations and integration of the metro and connectivity with the surroundings. Our strategy was simple and communication was to the point. We gained good media mileage and our ridership steadily grew.
