Communications Manager – Qatar at Actions Global Communications

Action Global Communications, an independent communications agency spanning three continents, is looking for a result-driven, committed, and enthusiastic Communications Manager, to be embedded at our client’s office, based in Qatar.
The ideal candidate will support the development and implementation of high-level communication campaigns and should have a strong background in ideating integrated communication strategies.
Responsibilities
Strategy & Management:
- Work with Senior Communications Consultant to develop communication strategy and PR plans.
- Work with Senior Communications Consultant to forecast and manage the team’s time and track deliverables against the scope.
- Lead on evaluating the work of junior team members and report back to the Senior Communications Consultant on individuals’ capabilities and teams’ capacities to heighten internal processes and ensure effective allocation of workload.
- Lead on day-to-day account management, ensure the tracker is kept up-to-date, deliverables are on track and that all files are correctly named and archived.
- Mentor junior team members and help grow their skillset.
Content development and media relations:
- Review all content (traditional and online) to ensure that all final copies are newsworthy, up to a high editorial standard, on message, and tailored to the targeted audience.
- Combine creativity with knowledge of the media to recognize newsjacking opportunities, story angles, and generate positive news coverage, profile pieces and features across a broad media spectrum.
- Develop and build top-level media relations, securing coverage in key media where required.
Day-to-day
- Conceptualize and develop initiatives and PR stunts; and motivate the team to pitch initiatives that address the client’s requirements.
- Identify and offer solutions to the client’s issues and objectives.
- Identify relevant awards/ category nominations and lead on development of award-winning submissions.
- Identify and secure stakeholder engagement opportunities, including but not limited to, co- hosted events, MOUs and speaking opportunities.
- Proactively gain an understanding and working knowledge of all core communications disciplines across Action Global Communications to market/ upsell out of scope services.
Requirements
- BA/MA degree in marketing, communications, or a related discipline.
- Work experience in communications required (minimum 3-4 years).
- Proven track record of executing successful communications campaigns.
- Strong relationships with both local and national business and industry media outlets will be considered an advantage.
- Excellent Arabic and English writing proficiency; journalism experience preferable.
- A “can-do “attitude. Commitment to meeting deadlines and going the extra mile.
- Agile, flexible, and problem-solving mindset.
