The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and intellectually curious Senior Editor (English) to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an individual with a proven editorial background in journalism, government communications, or strategic content development—with a deep understanding of global politics, diplomacy, and international relations. You will be responsible for leading English-language editorial strategy, content creation, and quality control across platforms, while guiding junior team members and ensuring messaging excellence that aligns with our clients’ strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as a lead content strategist and senior writer, overseeing the development of high-quality English-language content tailored to UAE government and global affairs contexts.
- Generate and refine editorial ideas across digital, and social media channels, ensuring content aligns with client positioning and geopolitical sensitivities.
- Edit and quality-check content for grammar, tone, clarity, accuracy, and alignment with strategic messaging—often involving complex, nuanced, or high-stakes subject matter.
- Collaborate closely with other writers, editors, designers, and other stakeholders to produce engaging and impactful content that resonates with our target audience.
- Conduct in-depth research, background analysis, and fact-checking to ensure accuracy and credibility, especially when dealing with sensitive or strategic issues.
- Work closely with the account management team to develop and implement editorial strategies that drive audience engagement, growth, and retention to deliver for our clients. Review key performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of our editorial efforts and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in journalism, media, and digital publishing to ensure our content remains innovative and competitive.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, International Relations, Political Science, English, or Communications (master’s degree is an asset).
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a senior editorial, copywriting, or content strategy role within media, government, PR affairs, or policy-driven organisations.
- Demonstrated experience writing for government, diplomatic, or political clients or topics.
- Outstanding command of written English, with advanced editing, research, and storytelling capabilities.
- Strong understanding of geopolitical and policy-related content, international diplomacy, and public sector sensitivities.
- Experience producing and managing editorial content across both traditional and digital channels.
- Ability to work calmly and professionally under pressure, especially when managing urgent or high-profile projects.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to distil complex information into clear, compelling narratives.
- Experience working collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural, and multidisciplinary environment.
