Reporting to: Senior Account Manager

Mission: To manage a dedicated portfolio of clients and to deliver exceptional client servicing to ensure the smooth running of accounts.

Key Responsibilities include:

Content Development

  • Development of written materials including but not limited to:
    • press releases
    • features
    • blog posts
    • social media content calendar and posts/content for a variety of different platforms
    • Q&As
    • speeches
    • newsletters
    • briefing documents

Client Servicing

  • Contributing to the management and day-to-day running of the team and accounts, including;
    • on-going client development
    • checking client servicing performance
    • meeting deadlines
    • ensuring quality control across all aspects of account handling
  • Providing considered counsel to clients on an ongoing basis and delivering exceptional client servicing
  • Setting and managing both client and internal deadlines
  • Hosting client meetings independently with clear agreed outcomes

Planning

  • Researching and contributing ideas to programme development for clients and prospective clients aligned with their business objectives
  • Developing sector specific knowledge to share with clients and proactively providing market insights to be translated into effective clients campaigns
  • Independently developing and delivering presentations and plans against clients key business objectives
  • Partnering with client and extended teams (e.g. events) to develop and integrated communication plans across platforms

Media Relations

  • Developing content for multiple platforms and channels for clients and pitching to appropriate media
  • Managing all media and social media influencer relations activities and developing media and blogger/social media influencer engagement tactics
  • Maintaining relationships with regional media and social media influencers through regular communication
  • Organizing media events through managing both junior team members and clients, providing ongoing and proactive updates to senior team members. Events include, but not limited to:
    • press conferences
    • press trips
    • media briefing
    • media lunches
    • media iftars
    • on-site management of interviews where necessary
  • Pro-active management of day-to-day media relations for a portfolio of clients including proactively identifying and securing media opportunities

Team Management

  • Managing PR junior members of staff including team development and mentoring
  • Briefing and managing junior team members on content development for clients in a clear and concise manner including management of process through to delivering to client

Business Development

  • Researching and contributing ideas to programme development and for new business proposals
  • Participation in new business pitches

General and Administration 

  • Working as part of the account team to conceptualize award winning campaigns based on clients business objectives
  • Contributing to both clients and DABO & CO’s digital marketing
  • Submitting times sheets accurately and on time.

Reporting

  • Overseeing weekly status reports for accounts, ensuring accuracy and delivery as per deadlines
  • Submitting accurate and timely accounts activities plans as per client scope and requests (monthly/quarterly/annually) to clients, effectively managing junior members of staff in the process
  • Developing and leading quarterly account review presentations mapped against contracted deliverables including development of useful insights and recommendations

Candidate Profile

Education/ Qualification

  • Bachelor degree preferably in Mass Communications or Journalism

Experience

  • 4 years minimum experience in a Media or Public Relations agency, or relevant industry/role
  • Proven track record of writing skills and excellent client servicing
  • Experience in research and reporting
  • Solid media and market industry knowledge
  • Experience in PR program development
  • Proven track record of client management

Functional Skills

  • Microsoft package proficiency
  • Experience in team management and developing juniors
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong media network
  • Excellent verbal communicator and at ease when presenting to an audience
