Led by a locally experienced senior communications professional, together with a senior reporter from The National, this half-day course will provide you with an in-depth overview of UAE media today and what to expect in the future, plus equip you with practical skills on perfecting your pitch for the best chances of success.

Facilitators: 

Deema Kingsmill-Moore is the Communications and Community Engagement Director at Marriott International for the Middle East and Africa region. Having worked for the multinational hospitality company for the last 5 years, Deema is responsible for leading the Brand Marketing and Sales internal communications, building awareness and increasing exposure for the Continent and brands within the online/social media space, as well as defining and developing regional CSR strategies that underpin Marriott’s global CSR objectives to raise Marriott’s corporate reputation among target media. Previously, Deema spent 18 years working in PR and communications in Jordan, Egypt and the UAE, where she most spent 8 years with Hill & Knowlton working on consumer, CSR and hospitality accounts, as well as running training workshops for both clients and staff. Deema is a Jordanian national, and graduated from Schiller International University in Heidelberg, Germany.

Nick Webster is a seasoned reporter for The National newspaper. Nick is a British trained journalist with 9 years experience reporting across a variety of divisions, including sport, healthcare, crime and general news. Having worked for The National newspaper since 2015, he is a senior figure of the team covering most sectors in local news and also provides investigative in depth reporting on a wide range of issues affecting the UAE.

Accreditation: MEPRA is currently working with the UK’s Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) on establishing a partnered Continuous Development Program (CPD). This course will be recognised within the CPD framework and count towards becoming a CIPR and MEPRA Accredited Public Relations Practitioner. The CPD Framework will be launched in Q3 2017.
