The MEPRA Academy has partnered with the Institute of Public Relations to bring the internationally renowned IPR Research Bootcamp to Abu Dhabi.

Designed for public relations and communication professionals, this half-day workshop uses practical examples and applied case studies to help participants develop a solid foundation for conducting research, from planning to execution and analysis.

Participants will learn about various research approaches and how to choose suitable methods to answer research questions.

Participation in this course will help you gain skills and knowledge on:

  • The role of research and how it fits strategically in the PR process (from planning to evaluation)
  • Common research methods and how to select the appropriate one based on the business question
  • Best practices of qualitative and quantitative research
  • Sample size and selection
  • Surveys, focus groups, and other methods – how to develop, execute, and analyse
  • Ways to visualise data

This course will be hosted at the Etihad Airways Training Academy Auditorium at Etihad Airways HQ

Training Level: Intermediate-advanced; for PR professionals with at least six years or more experience.

Tina McCorkindale is the President and CEO of the Institute for Public Relations, an independent research nonprofit founded in 1956 devoted to research that matters to the profession. She taught as a professor for 15 years, and has more than 10 years of experience working in corporate communication and analytics. She has more than 125 presentations and academic publications in books and journals with her research broadly focusing on aspects of digital media. She is active and serves in leadership positions in several industry groups and serves on the editorial review board of several academic journals. She lives in Seattle, Washington.

Sarab Kochhar is the Director of Research with the Institute for Public Relations. She also holds the position as the Director, Strategic Engagement with APCO Worldwide where she leads strategic initiatives for the company and its clients. At IPR, she is the chief research strategist, advising and leading the Institute on priorities and research programs. In her previous positions, Sarab has worked in public and private sectors for more than 10 years. She has authored book chapters and refereed conference papers, received the top paper award from PRSA Educators Academy, Chester Burger Award for Excellence in Public Relations from PRSA, and the Ketchum Public Relations Research Excellence Award. She serves on the editorial review board of the Public Relations Review. She is based in Los Angeles, California.

Accreditation: MEPRA has partnered with UK’s Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) to establish a continuous professional development (CPD) program. MEPRA members will receive access to CIPR’s CPD platform, which includes more than 1,200 learning resources and enables practitioners to map their training journey and earn their way to becoming MEPRA and CIPR Accredited Public Relations Practitioners.
