Learn to think like a reporter and write with impact to capture Arabic media attention and engage audiences. This one day course will guide participants through how an Arabic media newsroom works, what journalists expect in a press release, and provide pitching techniques to help secure media coverage. This is a practical workshop that will help build techniques to impress journalists and achieve a brand’s objectives.The course will end with a Q&A session with a practicing Arabic journalist who will share their tips on how to increase your chances of media coverage. This course is primarily taught in Arabic.

Facilitator: Sadeq Jarrar MCIPR

Sadeq is Head of Communications and Public Relations at Sky News Arabia and is responsible for the development of the corporation’s communication strategies, both internal and external. Among other tasks, he is in charge of SNA’s social media domain, branding, and reputation and crisis management. Before joining Sky News Arabia five years ago, Sadeq was the Communications and PR Manager at the Dubai government’s “Dubai Press Club”, where he played a key role in developing and running projects, including the influential Arab Media Forum, Arab Journalism Award and Arab Media Outlook. Sadeq specialises in Arabic content, and has extensive professional experience in media consultations, government communications and public affairs, reputation management, capacity building, media training, content analysis and media writing, CSR, as well as internal communication with Arab and international organisations.

Accreditation: MEPRA has partnered with UK’s Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) to establish a continuous professional development (CPD) program. MEPRA members will receive access to CIPR’s CPD platform, which includes more than 1,200 learning resources and enables practitioners to map their training journey and earn their way to becoming MEPRA and CIPR Accredited Public Relations Practitioners.
