Facilitator: John Whyte-Venables MCIPR
John Whyte-Venables MCIPR specialises in showing people how to make professional looking video for the web using mobile devices and currently leads on multimedia skills training at the UK’s Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
John’s background is in BBC radio, television and online news, where he worked as a reporter, specialist correspondent and trainer. He set up and ran the BBC’s first international local radio school, in Bucharest, Romania. He also has over 30 years’ experience as media interview trainer for a wide range of blue-chip clients, including government agencies and departments, the University of Cambridge and the UK Environment Agency.
An expert on the nature of news and news values, John is a former Press Fellow of Wolfson College, Cambridge. He is the author of What is News, Handling Media Interviews (both books available from Kindle) and Communications Skills for Engineers and Scientists.
