If you would like to better understand the challenges and opportunities in navigating the UAE English media landscape or you’re looking for ways to master techniques in pitching to secure media coverage then this course is for you. This course will help participants think like a reporter and write with impact to capture media attention and engage audiences. The training is led by former senior news editor of The National and now freelance journalist Jennifer Bell.

Facilitator: 

Jennifer Bell is a British-trained, award-winning international correspondent trained to the highest level in the UK. She has ten years industry experience and is a former senior journalist and a senior national editor for The National newspaper. Jennifer, who is now a freelance journalist, contributes to many top tier titles across the region including, Gulf News, Arab Weekly, Arabian Business, Arabian Business Qatar, The Business Voice, Life 360, Middle East Health, Business Benchmark, and commissions for UK titles such as a special reports for The Telegraph. She also compiles editorials for WorldSkills Abu Dhabi and WorldsSkills International, Dubai Cares and United Arab Emirates University (UAEU).

Accreditation: MEPRA has partnered with UK’s Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) to establish a continuous professional development (CPD) program. MEPRA members will receive access to CIPR’s CPD platform, which includes more than 1,200 learning resources and enables practitioners to map their training journey and earn their way to becoming MEPRA and CIPR Accredited Public Relations Practitioners.
