International strategic communications consultancy, BLJ Worldwide, is seeking an Account Executive to join its team in Doha. This role is intended to deliver day-to-day support for clients and work alongside the wider team to provide counsel, develop and execute communications strategies and tactics and assist with media relations.
The ideal candidate should be self-starter, proactive, resourceful, and efficient with strong communication skills and high levels of professionalism. The candidate should also demonstrate agility in working directly with clients and the staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment. An understanding of international and current affairs, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making ability, strong media relations skills and attention to detail are key to this
position.
Responsibilities
● Be client-facing – you will have direct contact and engagement with clients and work with them on-site as well as in our office.
● Provide client team support, attend internal meetings to gain understanding of key issues and seek feedback from account leaders on regular basis.
● Support with day-to-day engagement with clients by attending to requests in a very responsive manner and preparing weekly activity trackers for clients.
● Support in planning and executing client activities in a timely, efficient, and high-quality manner.
● Develop industry knowledge to better create and execute effective plans that reach clients’ target audiences.
● Manage day-to-day media relations and story placements on behalf of clients and develop/maintain local & international media lists for clients.
● Attend a range of client events to manage media interviews and requests on ground.
● Conduct research tasks and create reports and insights based on data and analytics to better inform clients and plans.
Requirements
● Hold a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing,
Journalism, International Relations, Political Science, English, or Law.
● Have up to two years of Communications, Public Relations or Journalism experience, either
in-house or with an agency.
● Have an interest in communications and topics that shape the local and global news agenda
– an interest or background in arts, entrepreneurship and business would be a plus.
● Be an analytical thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
● Have strong English content writing skills. Proficiency in Arabic will be an advantage.
