Paul Venn, Managing Director, Strategic Affairs at Raiyn & CARMA

Paul has been working in PR in the Middle East for 30 years. During his career he has spent time leading network PR agencies as well as establishing and managing inhouse PR departments. With more than 6 years’ experience in media intelligence, he now advises clients and agencies on how to design and deliver strategic media measurement programmes to demonstrate ROI of PR programmes and campaigns.

Maria Talakina, Insights Director at CARMA

Maria is a research and consulting expert with over 16 years global experience. Her expertise caters to the most complex client objectives that require expertise and data fusion across measurement, research, and strategy. Maria has developed and executed large-scale exclusive research programs for the most prominent international brands, rightsholders, and government entities, covering over 30 markets across five continents. At CARMA, Maria is responsible for integrated research and consulting development. Combining audience insights and media insights, Maria helps clients develop a holistic measurement approach from inputs through to outcomes, delivering the most complete understanding of PR & Comms effectiveness. She has recently won the AMEC’s 2025 Young Professional Award, which recognises the global talent in communication effectiveness.
