The COVID pandemic may have supercharged e-commerce in MENA. But local merchants were still confronted with many payment processing challenges at the start of 2024. For Checkout.com, a global payments leader, this was happening as competition in the industry was intensifying and new entrants were encroaching on its market share. <br />Our research found that half of merchants in MENA reported having access to payment data, yet a significant number couldn’t turn it into actionable insights. Moreover, we estimated that businesses are losing 1.5% – 2.2% of their revenues – literally a billion-dollar opportunity for large enterprises – due to suboptimal payments acceptance.<br />Our thought leadership campaign aimed to help merchants boost their revenue through better payment performance. In turn, we took the lead in media Share of Voice against our competitors, with record results for our flagship MENA report.
