During the Annual General Meeting, Strategy Board members will be asked to vote by secret ballot for four candidates to stand on the MEPRA Executive Board a for the next two years. Results will be announced during the event.
Four nominations were received for the MEPRA Executive Board:
- Souad Jamal AlSerkal, Vice President of Corporate Communications, Tabreed.
- Kate Midttun is Managing Director and Strategic Marketing Lead at Acorn Strategy
- Anjali Mehra, Senior Director Communications, Middle East and Africa, Marriott International
- Margaret Flanagan, Chief Strategy Officer, ADSA’A BCW
Three candidates will also be standing to join the MEPRA Strategy Board. All MEPRA Members in attendance of the AGM will be able to vote for the Strategy Board nominees. Please note there is no set limit to the number of Strategy Board members:
- Ray Eglington Former MEPRA Chair and Group Managing Director, Four Communications
- Deema Kingsmill-Moore, Former MEPRA Vice Chair and PR Director MEA, Marriott International
- Joyce Baz, Head of Communications, Google

MEPRA Strategy Board
The MEPRA Strategy Board serves as an advisory board to the Executive Board and will help identify and shape the strategy for MEPRA moving forward, particularly around our major initiatives including the Leadership Majilis, Academy and Awards ceremony. A Strategy Board Member will be committing to four meetings per year plus time allocated for sub committee planning and projects.
MEPRA Executive Board
The MEPRA Executive Board takes on an operational role of MEPRA and will work closely with MEPRA staff to implement initiatives throughout the year. This board is the decision-making body of the Association, comprised of a Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary plus a small group of Executive Directors. An Executive Board Member will be committing to twelve meetings per year plus time allocated for sub committee planning and projects.
By committing themselves as a MEPRA board member, they will be working towards an industry collective goal to:
Raise awareness and build understanding of public relations in the Middle East, both as a profession and as a driver of organisational reputation. We do so by promoting industry standards, sharing knowledge and thought leadership and building the capabilities of professionals in region
During the AGM, MEPRA Chair, Jonty Summers and Treasurer Mazen Nahawi will also deliver a presentation on the association’s success in 2018 and talk through the 2019 strategy and activity plan for the year ahead. Please note, this is a members-only event.
