Opportunity
The Communications Department at Sanofi Gulf is a collaborative, strategic business function that contributes to the achievement of the affiliate’s business goals, in alignment with global and above-Greater Gulf communications strategies and priorities. The position is both strategic and operational – responsible for identifying communication strategies, developing communication plans as well as implementing and measuring such plans.
Responsibilities
- 1. External Communications for Greater Gulf MCO
Objectives
- Reinforce company image and reputation; reinforce commitment to patients —Promote and reinforce the image and reputation of Sanofi and its commitment to patients through robust and strategic communication efforts targeting mainstream and social media
Key Accountabilities:
- Create external/PR communication plan in alignment with MCO and global communication strategy and business goals.
- Collaborate with MCO and above-MCO Communications teams and cross-functional teams, lead the implementation of activities on brand and corporate communications
- Measure and report on external/PR communications metrics, with the aim of improving effectiveness of communications tools and activities.
- Act as a media point of contact, maintaining positive relations with top tier outlets and members of the media, including social media influencers as relevant
- Collaborating with the MCO Channels Lead, maintain and improve corporate website and social media channels
- Write and develop content for external communications use (primarily for the media), including press releases, fact sheets, FAQs, briefing documents, and speeches among others.
- Write and develop content for social media, including posts for Facebook and Instagram, among others.
- Localize/adapt and implement global and above-Gulf communication initiatives.
- As needed, work with various external partners, including PR, creative and social media agencies in creating communication tools and in certain cases, in implementing projects. Must have the ability to critically review materials and tools.
- Maintain high level of communication standards (multi-channel – printed, audio-visual, etc) strictly following corporate brand guidelines.
- Carry out other communications assignments as needed.
- 2. Greater Gulf MCO General Medicines brand communication
Objectives:
- Deliver GBU strategic imperatives where communications can create impact — Be a strategic business partner to the key brand/therapeutic areas where communications can create impact; create opportunities to differentiate product/therapeutic areas in unbranded way to different stakeholders (including the media, KOLs/health authorities and the general public)
Key Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with Medico-Marketing teams, create product communication plans that support strategic brand plans (SBP) of priority brands. Communication plans must be an integral component to priority brands’ SPB.
- Secure necessary budget to support implementation of approved product communication plan.
- Collaborating with MCO (specifically External Communications Lead) and above-MCO Communications teams, Medico-Marketing teams, lead the implementation of activities included in the product communication plan.
- Measure and report on product communications metrics, with the aim of improving effectiveness of communications tools and activities
- Localize/adapt and implement global and above-Gulf communication initiatives for Specialty Care.
- As needed, work with various external partners, including external agencies in creating communication tools and in certain cases, in implementing projects. Must have the ability to critically review materials and tools.
- Carry out other communications assignments as needed.
- 3. Internal Communications for Greater Gulf MCO
Objectives
- Align employees with global strategy —Promote and help imbed Sanofi global and MCO strategic goals, encourage colleagues to align their individual responsibilities to those goals and empower them to engage each other to achieve strategic objectives.
- Culture and employee engagement communications — Develop and provide employees with tools, information, confidence and/or context needed to deliver on their individual and MCO-wide goals; build pride.
Key Accountabilities:
- Create insights-driven (Pulse, etc.) internal communication plan in alignment with MCO and global communication strategy and business goals.
- Collaborate with MCO and above-MCO Communications teams and cross-functional teams, lead the implementation of activities around colleague engagement, including internal events and activations.
- Measure and report on internal communications metrics, with the aim of improving effectiveness of communications tools and activities.
- Collaborating with the MCO Channels Lead, maintain and improve internal communications online and in-office channels, including Buzz, Yammer, What’s On, and others
- Write and develop content for internal communications, including news articles, features, briefing documents, and speeches, among others.
- Localize/adapt and implement global and above-Gulf communication initiatives.
- Ensure MCO’s consistent and high visibility and presence in above-MCO and global internal communications channel, including GBU-focused internal communications channel (part of internal communications metrics to be measured and reported on).
- As needed, work with various external partners, including external agencies in creating communication tools and in certain cases, in implementing projects. Must have the ability to critically review materials and tools.
- Maintain high level of communication standards (multi-channel – printed, audio-visual, etc) strictly following corporate brand guidelines.
- Carry out other communications assignments as needed.

Skills, Experience & Knowledge Requirements
Education:
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Arts & Sciences, preferably in Communications, Journalism, or Public Relations
Experience and knowledge:
▪ At least 5 years working experience in a communications function of a multinational corporation or a global PR agency; at least 5 years working as a Manager/Account Manager or Senior Account Executive
▪ Knowledge and experience in healthcare communication is a plus
