The Opportunity

Build the company reputation through planned activities that enhance the corporate brand image, including the facilitation of both internal and external communications regarding strategic change, and corporate initiatives. Key audiences include ADNOC distribution executive and employee levels as well as government and other group companies. Implement strategic decisions based on an expert understanding of the local external and internal environment. Develop and implement internal and external communication strategies for the organization to ensure that unified, consistent, and positive messages define and promote the corporate identity and mission.

Responsibilities

Communication Planning and Management

• Oversee development of internal and external communication framework and calendar that identifies the right channels and methods for communications.
• Contributes to development of annual and long-term communication plans to build the reputation of the company and maintain, in accordance with company policies and objectives, close liaison and contact with Government, Ministries and agencies and local communities.

Internal & External Communications

• Lead and provide guidance to create, distribute and measure frequent, innovative and varied
communications to multiple stakeholders for significant initiatives, including but not limited to connected newsletter, Town hall meetings, Leadership event, Leader chats, and more.
• Ensure effective partnership with executives of other departments to develop and distribute
communications strategies and materials regarding organizational changes, crisis management, new hires, departures and promotions.
• Ensure the establishment of local crisis committees and coordination of those when needed, including preparations and appropriate training
• Guide in producing innovative and creative ideas by providing briefs that convey the desired
organizational presence and image at public and private partner institutions.
• Ensure consistency in all internal communications by recommending review of structure and
processes and coordinating with concerned internal stakeholders in the launching or relevant material, awards, events, etc.
• Identifies and capitalizes on opportunities to promote and positively represent the organization through internal and external communication.
• Develops and implements policies and procedures for communicating on behalf of the organization that represents the corporate identity and promotes and supports the organization’s mission.
• Drafts proposals for special communications projects, present and promote these projects to management.
• Seeks new methods and creative strategies to increase internal and external awareness of key events and changes in the organization including the launch of new products, special events, local and global community service, and other topics of interest.
• Prepares and delivers presentations in the company to share information.
• Represents the company in a variety of settings, always promoting the company in the best possible way.

Reporting and Analysis

• Monitor and benchmark against competitor communication activities to revise, develop, and implement appropriate strategies and tactics to meet changing customer requirements and market trends; make recommendations to management and support the VP Communications accordingly.
• Analyse and assess historical and current data to identify improvement opportunities for future communication campaigns.
• Monitors and compare budget, cost, and financial impacts of various communication initiatives, and reviews policies, strategies and plans accordingly.
• Reviews and manage communication technologies to keep abreast of developments including the design and enhancement of company intranet and internet sites. Ensure team maintains skill levels and up to date awareness of department objectives.

Advertising Agencies and Media Buying

• Prepare briefs & instructions for the English language advertising agency and hold discussions regarding media mix, campaign timing etc. so that the agency understands the Company’s perspective and needs.
• Evaluate proposals and deliverable plans with recommendations from the advertising agency in print, mass media and brief seniors to enable final decisions.
• Monitor expenditure on the advertising account, verify invoices to ensure they are in line with contractual commitments, initiate reports to reconcile with approved budget and give regular reports to seniors.
• Follow up regularly with the advertising agency to monitor and supervise the progress of advertising campaigns and to give instructions of suggestions to ensure that the campaigns are executed as per requirements.

Others

• Coach internal regional partners on implementation of communication standards and processes to deliver best-in-class internal communications that reflect the corporate brand.
• Lead department project allocation, project team arrangement, and supervision of project execution in order to ensure all written and visual publications reflect proper organization brand and identity.

Requirements

Minimum Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, journalism or PR
• Relevant masters or post graduate degree is highly desirable

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

• 8 years of experience in internal and external communication management including at least 4-5 years of increasing managerial responsibilities.
• Up to date on industry trends and able to stay ahead of the curve
• Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Capable of working well as part of a team as well as independently
• Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
