The Opportunity

BLJ Worldwide is on the hunt for a bilingual PR Account Director to join our Finance and Investment practice, working across key clients in various financial sectors including foreign direct investment, asset management, FinTech, and banking on a full-time basis.

Requirements

  • You will have over six years of experience in a similar in-house or agency role, excellent regional media contacts, and a proven track record of devising and implementing communications strategies to shape reputation and enhance brand visibility.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, Journalism, International Relations, Political Science, English, or related disciplines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making ability, and attention to detail.
  • English and Arabic language skills are essential. This position is a bilingual post. We will test your competency in English and Arabic.
  • You should be a self-starter, with an understanding of international and current affairs and have strong communication skills to work directly with clients and the staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Engage and interact with clients daily. This is a client-facing role.
  • Plan and execute client activities in a timely, efficient, and high-quality manner with minimal direction from supervisors.
  • Excellent knowledge of monitoring and research tools, and ability to critically analyze findings and provide recommendations to clients.
  • Understanding of how to brief tasks and provide feedback to the junior team, managing workflow to ensure that tasks are completed in a timely fashion and delivered to a high standard.
  • Conduct in-depth research on topics of importance to clients.
  • Create research briefings on specific topic areas and issues.
  • Provide recommendations to clients proactively based on a strong understanding of their objectives and needs.
  • Support and lead narrative development, and messaging workshops.
  • Preparation of press material, ensuring this is delivered to a high standard.
  • Assist in the development and execution of crisis-communication strategies.
  • Provide client team support, attend internal meetings to gain an understanding of key issues, and seek feedback from others on a regular basis.
  • Liaise with clients and ensure satisfaction with the company’s services.
  • Support with out-of-hours requests as required.
  • Ability to implement client brand guidelines and amend content to reflect the client’s preferred style.
