The Opportunity

We currently have a temporary vacancy available in the University’s in-house Communications Department and it is an amazing opportunity for someone who is passionate about writing and has a burning desire to help us tell our stories better.

If you’re looking for a fast-paced working environment, this opportunity is for you! This position will be highly involved in all aspects of marketing: social media, content creation, communications, public relations and events.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Communications Executive in day to day activities of the communications department
  • Developing highly effective content across various digital platforms (social media, website etc)
  • Drafting public relations materials including press releases, media alerts, pitch emails, and other materials as directed
  • Assisting with curation and drafting of various internal communications, including monthly global newsletters, daily news clips and more
  • Create and maintain media lists, editorial calendars, media clip summaries, and other databases
  • Provide on-site assistance at various events, etc.

 

Requirements

  • A strong written and oral communicator with excellent attention to detail and demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information and present it in a clear, concise and conversational manner
  • Eager to learn about marketing and communications in a creative environment
  • Excellent English skills (writing, speaking etc)
  • This is a junior role but some experience in Communications, Journalism, or any other relevant field is preferred
  • Experienced with running a social media calendar for a company or brand using the latest tools: (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)
  • A task manager with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work assignments appropriately.
  • Positive, proactive, and resourceful
  • Must be a strong team player
  • Computer literate, internet and social media savvy

 

More information about the job:

  • The position allows for 10 -15 hours of work per week
  • The candidate will be paid per hour
  • Candidate should have their own visa
