THC (Taqarabu Hybrid Communications) is a new breed of hybrid consultancy, built with global organisations and initiatives in mind. As winners of two awards at the 10th MEPRA awards, Taqarabu, which means ‘bring together’ in Arabic, is our guiding principle as we blend specialist communication and consultancy skills with a deep understanding of the Middle East, and shape them in a way that meets client’s needs. The Opportunity

THC is seeking to engage an intelligent individual to work collaboratively with colleagues in its dynamic and fast developing hybrid communications consultancy.

Requirements & Responsibilities

Apart from good academic qualifications and a proven track record in communications, it is essential that the successful candidate be flexible, committed and keen to succeed in a multicultural environment.

Other required qualities and experiences include:

  • An understanding of the media in the context of corporate, government and / or consumer communications – both traditional and digital
  • Good creative writing skills
  • An eagerness to learn and become familiar with the issues effecting the Gulf region
  • An ability to project a positive impression on clients and colleagues
  • Attention to detail, management of own time and client deadlinesTypical Responsibilities:
  • Regular contact with clients – verbal, meetings, emails etc
  •  Working collaboratively with colleagues on projects, events and activities
  • Writing / drafting content for all communications; traditional, digital, collateral
  • Editing and checking copy
  • Research and investigation, including but not limited to issues, trends, media, people and events
  • Media list creation, journalist identification
  • Contributing towards plans and proposals
  • Preparation of reports, typically including information drawn from monitoring services, both traditional and dIgital

  • Formal and informal training, such as media skills, planning and specific communication techniques
  • Introduction Middle Eastern media landscape
  • Cultural training – understanding about the region, its people, issues and history
  • Mentoring from the senior Partners (including Ben Castree, Dr. Yasar Jarrar and Guy Taylor)
  • Training from THC’s digital specialists on web & digital technologies
