2017 MEPRA Awards – Government Communications & Public Affairs: ENEC & Four Communications Group

Entry Overview:

With four identical reactors being constructed simultaneously at Barakah, ENEC is responsible for the world’s largest new nuclear construction site. There have been significant milestones completed this year, with the UAE now on the cusp of becoming the 31st country to generate electricity using peaceful nuclear energy. As the project enters the complex commissioning and regulatory approvals phase, it has been paramount to continue and maintain clear, transparent and informative communications. Communicating progress, timeline adjustments, and educating both the public and the media about the next phases of the project has led to record levels of public support for ENEC and the UAE Peaceful Nuclear Energy Program.
