The Opportunity

Performance Communications’ Dubai office has a position available for a dynamic, media-savvy Account Manager, looking for an exciting opportunity to further their career in the Middle East PR and communications industry working for one of this specialist agency’s client teams.

The successful candidate will have a strong interest in the fields of automotive, sport and technology, and will be able to demonstrate the required standards of professionalism required to work directly with senior management at our international clients. They must be fluent in both Arabic and English and able to communicate confidently and persuasively.

With the ability to demonstrate experience of running PR campaigns and a strong understanding of the digital sphere, they will also possess strong writing skills, a creative mind and firm knowledge of the regional media landscape. They will be versatile team-workers and able to demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Job responsibilities will include – but are not limited to – the following:

Client management activities

  • Direct account management for clients, as specified by the Account Director, with a wide range of responsibilities, including major projects and campaigns.
  • Development and implementation of strategic communications plans
  • Conceptualising, developing and running award-winning campaigns and ideas to promote Clients’ products and services
  • Developing media relationships across the Middle East
  • Organising and running media events and media centres.
  • Producing press releases and media material, as well as client speeches and presentations.
  • Reporting back to clients and managing regular client meetings.
  • Responsibility for all aspects of quality control: conducting the final checks of all material (press releases, Q&As, Working Docs, etc.) submitted to clients for approval.
  • Cooperation with Head of Finance to manage clients’ financial activities.

General activities

  • Ensuring that the Account Director is provided with weekly Work In Progress (WIP) reports regarding client accounts, as requested.
  • Support with management of junior team members’ workloads.
  • Advance the company in the digital media sphere, liaising directly with the Head of Digital (based in the UK), where required.
  • Assisting with new business development as required.
  • Ensuring media lists are kept up-to-date
  • The role may involve travel across the Middle East.

Requirements

Professional

  • Passionate about good, simple and effective communications, with three to five years’ experience in the industry.
  • Proven ability to manage clients and team members in a highly dynamic pan-regional environment
  • Experience with either automotive, technology, sport or luxury PR clients.
  • Demonstrable first-class organisational skills and unbeatable attention to detail, borne out by experience managing campaigns and events in the region.
  • Understanding of the Middle East media landscape. Familiarity with North African markets would be an added bonus.
  • Experience working with major blue chip organisations, preferably across a range of mar-kets.
  • Strategic planner with demonstrable ability to think outside of the box and be creative.
  • Proven communication and writing skills.
  • Tenacious and results driven, seeking to promote the client at any opportunity
  • Culturally sensitive and highly adaptable – able to successfully deliver results under frequently challenging conditions.

Personal

  • Must be creative and dynamic, continually seeking to improve his/her own performance and that of the company.
  • Versatile team player, with a calm yet highly professional approach to work, looking to better him/herself as part of a highly respected team.
  • Standard computing skills, including Word, Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Owner of UAE driving licence and car.
  • Ability to travel freely across the GCC and Levant region.
