THE OPPORTUNITY

This is an opportunity for an individual with a talent for, and a track record in, explaining and conveying sometimes complex medical and scientific messages to media and other key influencers such as healthcare professionals. You will join a growing, buzzing team of 20 at an exciting point in its growth. You will support a growing portfolio of healthcare clients, as well as help us grow our capabilities and reputation in the healthcare field.

You will have already gained 3-5 years’ experience in the communications field, and will have relevant experience in the healthcare sector. You will preferably have worked for an international communications agency or for an agency with a specialism in healthcare. You will have experience working for some of the world’s leading pharmaceutical brands, and ideally experience working with hospitals and healthcare clients in the region. You will have knowledge of, and an interest in, at least one key therapeutic area. In this role, you will work closely with the associate director leading the healthcare portfolio to build FleishmanHillard’s healthcare group in the region. This is an excellent career progression opportunity to enter a leading international communications agency at a new juncture in its growth and entry into the healthcare field.

The role has come about due to the arrival of several new healthcare clients and the potential to grow our portfolio in this area.

The role is not limited to but will include…

  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships at all levels and managing multiple client projects and deliverables in a fast-paced environment
  • You must be proactive and highly motivated, able to manage your workload and those of others to meet client deadlines
  • You must have an entrepreneurial spirit, and be committed to building your agency career to the next level by building further your strategic thinking and team and campaign management skills
  • You must be a strong team player, happy to work within a clearly defined structure but also comfortable with pushing your boundaries, taking on new challenges and enjoying the unexpected – a can-do attitude and entrepreneurial spirit is essential
  • You must have a passion for healthcare and must also be aware of the crucial role that digital and social communications play in an integrated communications program – experience of digital programs in the healthcare field is preferred
  • You must be confident in analyzing technical and scientific information.
  • You must have a strong writing style, preferably with English or Arabic as your native language. In either Arabic or English, you must be able to develop content that confidently handles healthcare topics
  • You must have strong healthcare media contacts and relations across the UAE
  • You will regularly interact with your peer group across the FH group to network and foster inter-office relationships – you will play a role in the EMEA healthcare practice, pooling information and resources
  • You will mainly support the team and clients from our Dubai office, but will work from our client sites around the region when required
  • You must have experience of interacting with clients at different levels, and must clearly demonstrate an ability to advise clients. You must be happy to take responsibility for the role you play in shaping our overall client relationships, not just for day to day program implementation
  • You will provide support to offices within our international network, ensuring leadership and quality control across all assignments
  • We have a particularly close relationship with our small but growing office in Saudi Arabia, and you will be involved in helping us grow our presence not only in Dubai but across the GCC and Middle East region
